Recently my 3 year old golden retriever/st. bernard was diagnosed with a torn ACL. A specialist would need to perform the surgery at a cost of $4500.00. My dog is a member of the family and treated accordingly. Going ahead with the surgery would have been a difficult decision if it weren't for the PetPlan pet insurance purchased for her as a puppy. When we got her, we knew the risk of her developing some health issues as she aged was high. Also, we did not want to be facing the difficult decision of placing a monetary value on her lift due to injury of illness. Having pet insurance gave us the aility to treat her properly and ensure she has a long, healthy, pain free life.

We wanted to thank you all for the compassion, kindness, and thoughtfulness during one of the most difficult times in ours and "Maggie's" life. During "Maggie's" whole life she had come to your office either for just her yearly check-ups, an occasional paw injury from running too hard, or for her many ear infections due to finding and having to swim in every lake, pond, creek and mud puddle she could sniff out. Every time she did not want to be there but your friendly and kind staff and the uncountable amount of cookies you gave her made the visits so much more bearable and enjoyable. The last couple of months in "Maggie's" life were difficult and challenging for her and our family, and during the last couple of hours even more so, but you and your staff helped make this experience in our lives so much more comfortable and personable. We are still very saddened that "Maggie's" life has ended so soon, but we are also very happy and privileged that she shared the time she had with us and helped make our lives that much happier.

When I first came to The Country Doctor from another veterinary hospital I felt that they really did not care enough. Dr. Curie talked to me at great lengths about Buddy's x-rays. He explained the problem he found and said long term pain meds could help him. The other vet said they could not help Buddy. I felt that Dr. Curie cared about my dog and that meant a lot to me. John and I want to express our sincere appreciation for the kindness you gave to our dog Lucy in her last few days. At such a critical time we were concerned when our long time vet was not available, but you made us feel as though you had cared for Lucy for years. We shared 16 years of walking and rabbit chasing and napping. More recently the walks got shorter and the naps longer but those are all memories we will cherish. I don't know that we'll ever adjust to the quiet still that is left behind.

First of all I want to thank you for returning our phone call Saturday afternoon so promptly. We were frantic- our toy fox terrier ingested some water from our pool cover which contained decaying leaves. You gave us some advice, which we followed, and she finally came around 8-10hours later. She seems like her old self, no lingering side effects.

I really don't know where to begin to thank you for so many things you did for Maggie. We felt so comfortable when she was being cared for by you and Dr. Veale. Maggie was so excited to see her favorite doctors! It's been 2 months since we had to put her down and our house is very lonely without her. She left us many wonderful memories-her gentle and loving personality will never be forgotten. We were the lucky ones to have her be a part of our family.
Thank you for your guidance regarding Maggie's cancer. The amputation was an adjustment for all of us but she managed quite well and we had more precious time with her. We appreciate the love and kindness that was given to Maggie.
